Reimagining Influence and Leadership :: New Moon in Leo :: Gate 31
New Moon in Leo — July 24, 2025, HD Gate / Gene Key 31
In this episode of the Inner Circle Podcast, we explore the Leo New Moon as a gateway for rethinking influence, leadership, and the energetic currency of trust. Rooted in Human Design Gate 31—the Gate of Influence—this lunation teaches us that real leadership is not self-appointed. It must be recognized, invited, and trusted over time. We move beyond performance and virality into the slow, relational work of becoming trustworthy.
This episode offers a deeper look at how lunar cycles—especially the New and Full Moons—act as thresholds for visionaries. Through these cyclical rites, we’re invited to listen more closely to what’s no longer true, release it with care, and attune to what wants to emerge through us with greater clarity. Through the New Moon in Leo in Gate 31, we learn to release our entitlement and build trust through congruence and consistency over time.

Working with New Moon in Leo, Gate 31
The Leo New Moon will occur on July 24, 2025 at 3:11 p.m. est in Gate 31 and teach us how leadership, voice, and influence truly work energetically. This gate teaches us that we’re not entitled to influence and impact. Leadership and the permission to impact others is something that must be earned through trustful actions over time. Gate 31 cannot initiate leadership on its own. The influence must be invited before it supports others. And this invitation doesn’t come out of nowhere. It comes from you being witnessed and watched overtime. This moon teaches that people will assess whether or not to trust you (and why) by how your presence, offerings, and shares feel to them in their bodies over time.
The Lunar Rites of this cycle teach us that virality is not leadership. You won’t gain people’s deep trust just by being beautiful or right or popular. Popularity is no longer an indication of trust. Trust must be earned through trustful action. Trust is an energetic currency and that the trust to influence is something that is earned through your willingness to show up and be who you are in your authentic essence and nature, not who you pretend to be.
Gate 31 cannot initiate leadership on its own. The true gifts of Gate 31 have to be invited by the collective.
Gate 31 resides in the Throat Center and it determines what becomes available to a collective through democratic leadership, where the leader is democratically chosen, not self-chosen.
This New Moon asks you say hello to your ego and to check in with your entitlement around how people trust you.
It asks you to clarify how you want to show up, how you want to be valued as a contributor to the collective, and to approach that through humility and service instead of barging in. For those of you who are already feeling uncomfortable with ideas of “leadership” that have no root and no consent, breathe a sigh of relief. You don’t have to show up in the way that that Instagram coach says you must: sexy, luscious, love-bombing, and overriding your innate knowing. You don’t have to “be the authority” in the room today. Actually, it is so much more trustworthy to lead from your experience, your genuine curiosity, joy, play, and through your obsession with your craft and the process.
The contagion of your authentic curiosity and passion form a better case for trustworthiness than trying to become the ultimate expert or position yourself as the best.
During this Lunar transit, we’re also contending with a potent Pluto opposition. With Pluto, the planet of power, being in the zodaical sign of futuristic and essence-oriented, Aquarius, we are being invited to check in on how we’re conforming to collective ideas of leadership and where those ideas need to be transformed inside of us.
For example, are you being pulled into old power dynamics, grasping for control, or clinging to outdated stories of authority? This is not the time for manipulation or branding yourself into virality. It’s a time to check your relationship to power and fall in love with the process of trust-building by respecting people’s autonomy and decision making process.
This lunation is also harmonized by a trine to Saturn and Neptune, offering an opportunity to ground your vision into reality, if you’re willing to surrender your need to control how it gets there. Saturn / Neptune conjunct invite us to reflect on our choicemaking power.
Reflection Questions
Where in my life or work do I expect trust or influence without having truly earned it? How do others feel in their bodies after encountering my presence, my work, or my voice? What have I done lately to build trust in ways that are consistent and rooted in service?
In what subtle or unconscious ways do I feel entitled to be listened to, followed, or praised? What happens in me when I’m not recognized or invited in? Do I spiral, push harder, disappear? What version of “leadership” still lives in me that’s based on performance, dominance, or appearance?
What would my leadership look like if it were led by devotion to my craft rather than control over my image? Where am I being called to step forward without taking up space that hasn’t been offered to me? What parts of me need to be deeply witnessed and processed with my support system before I step into leadership and service?
What dream or vision of mine is asking to be grounded through choice and action? How can I loosen my grip on what form my influence takes (viral or not viral, digital or in-person) and trust the essence of what wants to emerge through me? Where is my work inviting me to embody a deeper state of devotion?
